The welfare and wellbeing of the milk producers and their family members is the sole aim of the Karimnagar District Milk Producers Mutually-Aided Cooperative Union Limited, said Karimnagar Dairy chairman Ch. Rajeshwara Rao.
The dairy chairman visited the Husnabad mandal headquarters to attend a marriage function of a milk producer's daughter on Thursday and handed over the gold ‘thali' and silver ‘mattelu' under the ‘Kalyanamasthu' programme taken up by the dairy.
In an informal chat with newsmen, Mr. Rajeshwara Rao said that they had launched several welfare measures for the milk producers, including the ‘Kalyanamasthu' programme. He said that they had so far distributed ‘thali' and ‘mattelu' worth over Rs. 1.5 crore to 1,238 brides at the time of their marriages. He said that they had also initiated several other schemes such as conduct of medical camps for the milk producers and their family members and also veterinary camps for the cattle.
