Met authorities have warned of moderate to heavy rains on Wednesday following a depression over the North Andaman Sea. This is likely to intensify into a deep depression and then, into a cyclonic storm.

“It would then continue to move west-north westwards for some time and then north-westwards towards north Andhra Pradesh and Odisha coast during the next 72 hours,” a note on the Indian Meteorological Department’s website said.

Rain occurred at few places over coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema, while isolated showers were experienced in Telangana. Nagarkurnool in Mahabu-bnagar district recorded 6 cm rainfall, while Bhimavaram in West Godavari, Therlam in Vizianagaram and Kamalapuram in Kadapa districts recorded five cm rainfall.

Met authorities forecast that there could be moderate rain or thundershowers in coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema region and rain or thundershowers at isolated places in Telangana region on Wednesday.

Hyderabad could face rain or thundershowers at few parts, with the maximum and minimum temperatures being around 34 and 23 degree Celsius respectively.
