The decision of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant management to cut production incentive being given to the executives has been deplored by Steel Executives' Association (SEA).
SEA Executive Committee members sported black badges as a symbol of protest on Tuesday and presented a memorandum to the management.
According to SEA general secretary T.K.S.S. Tagore, the incentive, which varies from one department to another, is in the range of Rs.4,000 to Rs.10,000 per month. “Now, it has been reduced by almost 84 per cent with immediate effect,” he said. There is no change in incentive being given to the non-executives.
Appealing to the management to continue the incentive scheme to boost their morale, SEA Executive Committee has decided to convene emergency general body meeting on Wednesday at MP Hall, Ukkunagaram Club, to finalise its future course of action.
