ONGC has always been a frontrunner whenever it comes to nation building -- exploring oil and gas or nurturing schools and building infrastructure in the operational areas, asserted Pasala Krishna Rao, Asset Manager, ONGC, Rajahmundry Asset.

Mr. Krishna Rao on Tuesday distributed Rs.1.50 crore as an aid to the beneficiaries belonging to East, West Godavari and Krishna districts under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

Elaborating further, he said like its quest for oil and gas, ONGC passionately pursues developing and improving the quality of life in the region in collaboration with people and institutions operating in the operational areas under CSR.

The CSR projects aim at benefiting a larger number of people.

Water campaign

For instance, the ONGC has undertaken safe drinking water campaign in its operational areas by providing reverse osmosis plants which benefit a larger number of citizens effectively, he added.

The amount Rs.1.50 crore will be spent on classroom furniture, drinking water facilities, construction of library room, lab equipments, library books for schools and sports kits, laying of roads, providing sanitation facilities and reverse osmosis plants.

ONGC, Rajahmundry Asset, has spent nearly Rs.4 crore in the year 2012-13 under the CSR in the operational areas of East and West Godavari and Krishna districts.
