KADAPA: Rev. K.D. Aikyatha Rao, Rev. M. Manohar, Rev. B. Prabhakar, Rev. Jacon Frank, Rev. M. Prasad and Rev. B.V. Mohan and Y.S. Thomas Reddy, who allegedly tried to launch a “Chaitanya Udyamam” in CSI Church compound on Tuesday, demanding the ouster of Rt. Rev. K.B. Yesu Varaprasad, Bishop of Rayalaseema Diocese, alleging financial irregularities, were taken into custody by police and subsequently released. A group of pastors filed a complaint with Kadapa SP B. Malla Reddy today alleging that Dr. Thomas Reddy and his supporters barged into the CSI Church compound and raised derogatory slogans against the Bishop. Dr. Y.S. Thomas Reddy and some others had earlier published pamphlets stating that they would agitate near the Bishop's House on Tuesday alleging misuse of funds and assets in the Diocese and demanding the Bishop's ouster. On the request of the Bishop, a police picket was posted at his house and when his opponents tried to stage a protest, police arrested them, averting any untoward incidents.

Meanwhile, several pastors expressed solidarity with the Bishop and refuted the graft charges published in the pamphlets. They condemned the highhandedness of Dr. Thomas Reddy.
