VISAKHAPATNAM: The postal authorities have permitted display of advertisement of a candidate for the graduates' constituency of Legislative Council inside the post offices in accordance with the existing rules, claimed a representative of the candidate while rebutting the criticism of another candidate M.V.S. Sarma on this issue.

The candidate was approached by the Postal Department offering three facilities to canvass his candidature and he had paid Rs.13,469 as fee to the department for displaying a one feet by two feet advertisement in 60 post offices for a period of one month.

However, it was regrettable that Mr. Sarma had launched criticism without verifying the facts and also had said that the candidate might have been given the facility because he was brother of a State Minister, the representative of the candidate who was criticised by Mr. Sarma said in a press release.
