Thieves took away gold ornaments weighing 7.5 tolas and three watches, all worth Rs. 85,000, from a house after removing the latch of the rear door at Madhuranagar in S.R. Nagar on Monday. House owner P.V.R. Shastry, 57, and his wife went to Visakhapatnam when the robbery took place. The theft came to light on Tuesday morning when neighbours grew suspicious on seeing the doors ajar and lights glowing.
Man charged with rape
The Malakpet police booked a case of rape and cheating against one Chandramohan of Hamalibasthi in Malakpet following a complaint by his wife's sister that he had refused to marry her after having sexual relationship with her. The 18-year-old girl said that Chandramohan had promised to marry her. He allegedly got her pregnancy terminated thrice.
A mason Krishnaiah, 35, was electrocuted while laying the roof of a house while the house owner Tayyeb Ali sustained serious burns at Asadbabanagar in Bahadurpura on Tuesday. The accident occurred when the iron pipes the mason and the house owner were lifting came in contact with high-tension wires atop, police said. Ali was shifted to Osmania General Hospital.
Decomposed body found
A highly decomposed body of a 45-year-old unidentified man was found inside a hut at an open plot in Samata Colony of Golconda on Tuesday. "The victim apparently died some seven or 10 days ago. We did not suspect any foul play," Golconda Inspector John Wesley said.
