Families of all seven persons killed in Mudigonda firing participate
KHAMMAM: The CPI (M) embarked on the second phase of the land struggle in the district on Wednesday.
The partymen resumed their land grab programme in a symbolic manner at Venkatapuram, a village just one km away from Mudigonda.
The families of all the seven persons killed in police firing at Mudigonda took part in the Bhooporatam.
Hundreds of partymen, who gathered in the village pledge their support for the programme and resolved to continue the struggle till the demands were met by the government.
The CPI(M) district secretary said that the party had identified some 360 places for the second phase land struggle in the district. The programme got underway at about 300 of the identified places.
He said that some 30,000 acres of land was occupied in the first phase.
The officials concerned have sought little time to sort out the land related issues at certain places.
Such issues would be followed up by the mandal and village units.
