CPI State secretary K.Narayana said it was ridiculous and arbitrary that the State government on one hand was vigorously pursuing the ‘illegal assets’ cases against the YSRC president, Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy, and on the other continued to have in the Cabinet two Ministers -- Sabitha Indra Reddy and Ponnala Lakshmaiah-- whom the CBI has charge-sheeted in the same cases.

The two Ministers should voluntarily resign on moral grounds, he said .

He was talking to the media here on Friday on the sidelines of the inauguration of the CPI’s district convention. On cancelling the land allotted to the Brahmani Steels Gali Janardhana Reddy , the CPI leader demanded that the State government should either recover or freeze the Rs.350 crore loans which Gali Janardhana Reddy reportedly secured from different banks.

The CPI leader did not agree with PCC president Bothca Sathyanarayana’s contention that iron ore available in the Bayyaram mines was of ‘inferior quality’.
