Communist Party of India city secretary Donepudi Sankar demanded a judicial probe into the illegal arrests made by police during the Rachabanda programme. The alleged atrocious behaviour of MLAs should also be looked into, he said.
Chaos prevailed at many places as the peoples’ representatives and officials lacked coordination and the followers of leaders of the ruling party created nuisance, posing great difficulty to the people in ventilating their grievances.
Addressing party workers and people who were protesting against the irregularities that took place in Rachabanda at Ajitsingh Nagar on Wednesday, Mr. Sankar said there were several instances of history-sheeters intervening in the conduct of the Rachabanda.
Many people were not given receipts in acknowledgment of the petitions submitted by them. At some places, the aggrieved public were either attacked or shouted down by followers of MLAs of the ruling party.
