The Communist Party of India (CPI) staged a dharna in front of Sub Collector’s office here demanding the government to pay compensation to the people who suffered losses due to Nilam cyclone and heavy rains.
Addressing the gathering on Saturday, CPI city secretary Donepudi Sankar said that 16 divisions in the city were marooned in Budameru floods.
Hundreds of families suffered losses and became shelterless. Chief Minister N. Kiran Kuamr Reddy, however, confined to aerial survey.
The enumeration was also not being conducted properly.
The government was requested to take necessary steps for proper enumeration and pay compensation
