The Sangharsh Sandesh Yatra of the CPI (M) was given a rousing reception by party cadres as it entered Adilabad district from Nizamabad on the bridge across Godavari at Soan in Nirmal mandal on Thursday.
The yatra, one of the four which the Left party has launched across the country, is being led by Rajya Sabha member and CPI (M) Polit Bureau member Ramchandra Pillai, Polit Bureau member M.A. Baby, national executive committee member V. Srinivas Rao, central committee members Sudha Sundararaman and S. Veraiah among others.
A large number of party workers received the yatra and took out a rally from Soan to Nirmal town. Later, the rally reached Jannaram via Kadem. The rallyists passed through Utnoor, the nerve centre of the agency area in this district before it reached Adilabad town. A public meeting was organised at Adilabad in the evening.
The aim of the yatra is to create awareness on various problems faced by people today.
