CPI (M) Polit Bureau member Sitaram Yechury has asked the Centre to clear the air on the introduction of separate Telangana Bill in the Parliament.

Mr. Yechury asserted that there was no scope for the Bill coming up during the monsoon session of Parliament as a formal legislation would be drafted on the basis of the report given by the Group of Ministers that was proposed to be constituted.

The GoM would study complex issues like water and power resources sharing before embarking on the preparation of the legislation.

The development came at a time when the Congress, with its major allies NCP and National Conference, was said to be gearing up to advance elections. “With doubts being expressed on whether there will be a inter session, what will be the fate of the Bill?”
