KADAPA: Communist Party of India district secretary P. Krishnamurthy demanded that the district administration comprehensively inquire into the circumstances leading to the 14-year-old ninth class student of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya at Chakrayapet delivering a baby girl, identify the culprits and initiate deterrent action against them.

The girl became a mother owing to the negligent functioning of the KGBV principal, doctor and nurse, he alleged at a news conference. The KGBV staff members were apathetic to the girl’s plight and feigning ignorance to the happenings, tried to wash their hands off by sending the girl back to her parents, Mr. Krishnamurthy alleged.

The CPI leader demanded identification of the accused, charging him with rape and his dismissal in case he was an employee.

He demanded that the Government provide protection to the girl student and her infant. Several instances of harassment and atrocities of girl students in educational institutions were being reported in the media, he said and sought deterrent action to prevent recurrances of such incidents.
