Protest against issue of licence to liquor shops against norms

KURNOOL: Activists of Mahila Samakhya and CPI stormed the excise station here on Wednesday demanding that the officials shift liquor shops away from schools, temples and hospitals.

They alleged that the excise officials did not bother about the location of the liquor shops and sanctioned them without observing the guidelines.

They said the CPI office-bearers came across several incidents of eve- teasing in the city. They urged the authorities to take immediate action. CPI leaders Jagannatham, Muneppa, Mahila Samakhya leaders Dastagiramma, Nageswaramma and others were present.
