The CPI city unit gave a grand reception to party jathas that were touring the state as a prelude the 24{+t}{+h}State level conference, here on Sunday. The conference is scheduled to be organised at Karimnagar from Tuesday to Friday. The youth took out a scooter rally on Tammina Pothuraju Road, Chitti Nagar tunnel, Cheruvu Centre, Vidyadharapuram, and other areas.

On the occasion, CPI city secretary K. Subba Raju said corruption was ruling the roost in the State.

The Congress leaders were craving for posts, and left the public issues to the wind. The government has least concern for the people, farmers, and students. In fact, every section of society was suffering due to apathy and poor governance in the State, he said.

Meanwhile, Kakaraparthi Venkateswarlu memorial meeting was organised by CPI advocates wing near Santhi theatre here on Sunday. ‘Visalandhra' editorial president Edpuganti Nageswara Rao, MLC Jelli Wilson, and others recalled the services of Venkateswarlu, a prominent advocate.

At another meeting, the Communist leaders recalled the services of communist leader and journalist Kagitala Rajeswara Rao. A kavi sammelan was organised on the occasion.
