The bronze statue of Charles Phillip Brown, British Collector who rendered yeoman services for promotion of Telugu, will be unveiled by district Collector Shashi Bhushan Kumar on Rajiv Marg circle on Kadapa railway station road at 10 a.m. on Sunday.

Medical practitioner Putha Bali Reddy has donated the statue. Yogi Vemana University Vice-Chancellor A. Ramachandra Reddy and founder-secretary of C.P. Brown Language Research Centre Janumaddi Hanumath Sastry will participate. Prof. Ramachandra Reddy will release a book in TeluguC.P. Brown Jeevita Charitrawritten by Dr. Hanumath Sastry.

Another bookPragati Pathamlo Bharata Mahila, a compilation of biographies of eminent Indian women in various walks of life, written by Dr. Hanumath Sastry will be released at Aarthi Home, a home for orphan children, near municipal stadium at 5.30 p.m. on Sunday.

Principal Secretary of Primary Education Chandana Khan will attend as chief guest, former Vice-Chancellor of Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University Avula Manjulatha, Director of Aarthi School Amrutha Kumar, Arasam State executive member P. Sanjeevamma and Trust president P.V. Sandhya will take part.
