Many youths land up `temporary' jobs
WARANGAL: The Legislative Council election has come like a blessing for some graduates.
While some get new cellular phones, others cosy watches and some a ride in air-conditioned vehicles.
The election has offered many youth temporary employment as they are entrusted with the duty of enrolment, mobilising youth in large numbers and campaigning in colleges spread in three districts.
Those contesting in the graduates' constituency include: A. Varada Reddy of SR educational institutions, senior TRS leader Kapilavai Dileep Kumar and P. Harinder Reddy, a US-returned NRI.
They all proved their `strength' when they went to neighbouring Nalgonda district to file their nominations with a large number of vehicles following them.
According to conservative estimates, each candidate might have already spent Rs. 50 lakhs by now and is likely to end up spending Rs. 2 crores.
Meanwhile, the situation is no different in the local bodies' constituency as it is being fought by two main parties - Congress and TDP.
Congress candidate G.V. Ramana Reddy and TDP senior leader and former Member of Parliament Chada Suresh Reddy are leaving no stone unturned to scrape through.
