The Andhra Pradesh Municipal Corporations Contractors Association has asked the State government to recall Municipal Commissioner Md. Abdul Azeem immediately for “failing” to manage the VMC affairs properly. Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, association president Rongali Jagannadham alleged that a contractor from the city Kuncham Chinna Muttaiah breathed his last as the VMC did not clear bills of Rs.11 lakh due to him.

The contractor could have undergone treatment for brain tumour and survived had the VMC cleared the bills in time. The government should book criminal cases against the Commissioner in this regard, he said.
