The Muslim Educational Social and Cultural Organisation (MESCO) in the city will be conducting a contest on the life and times of the Prophet of Islam at school, district, State and national levels. Those interested in appearing for the written test will be supplied the book ‘The Infinite Light’ written by Turkish scholar of eminence, Fethullah Gulen.

About a lakh copies of the book in English, Urdu and Hindi are being distributed.

Cash prizes

Dr. Fakhruddin Mohammed, MESCO secretary, told presspersons here on Thursday that cash prizes would be given to the winners in both the junior and the senior categories. Objective type questions would be asked from the book being provided when one registers for the contest. “The idea is to create awareness about the character, life and message of the Prophet, which is now under assault by anti-social elements,” Dr. Fakhurddin said.

Quiz programme

Those who would qualify in the written test would appear for a quiz programme, which would be telecast in 24 episodes.
