APCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana described the note purportedly written by Union Minister Kishore Chandra Deo as a political conspiracy hatched by his detractors to tarnish his image.
Reacting sharply to the news report, Mr. Satyanarayana told reporters on Monday that there was some conspiracy. “I will serve a defamation notice on the daily for publishing the report,” he said.
Sources close to the PCC chief said he suspected the hand of a Congress leader aspiring to become Chief Minister and known to be close to Mr. Deo.
One version doing the rounds was that Mr. Deo could have written the note a few months ago and leaked now to embarrass Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and the PCC chief after the MIM withdrew support to the Congress government.
Moreover, Mr. Deo enjoys a certain level of credibility with top leaders who give credence to the political inputs he provides from time to time. The PCC chief finds himself in a vulnerable situation after the criticism about the extravagant spending on his daughter’s wedding at Vizianagaram earlier this month.
