Congress MLC M. Sudhakarbabu flayed CPI (M) State secretary B.V. Raghavulu for criticising Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy saying he owed an explanation why the CPI (M) government failed to implement sub-plans for SCs, BCs and minorities in 35 years of its rule in West Bengal. Talking to reporters, Mr. Sudhakar Babu along with DCC president B.Y. Ramaiah said the Left Party government which was in power in West Bengal Left never thought of welfare of the downtrodden in three decades of its rule. Poverty was highest in West Bengal when compared to other States and a large chunk of population did not have houses and unemployment was also at its peak. The CPI(M) governments managed by establishing private armies and gagging the voice of common public. They never tolerated criticism and Opposition’s voice was suppressed.
