Congress, TDP leaders lost the trust of Telangana people: TRS leader

WARANGAL: TRS senior leader and former MP B. Vinod Kumar cautioned people against the false promises being made by the Congress leaders on separate Telangana issue. Two parties – Lok Satta and Praja Rajyam which failed to recognise the aspirations of the people of Telangana lost their base. Similarly, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Congress would lose their place in the region soon.

Launching the TRS party membership drive at Hanamkonda Chowrastha on Friday, Mr Vinod Kumar said the Congress and TDP leaders lost the trust of Telangana people who no more believed in them. No political party could survive working against the aspirations of the people.

Jagan's tour

Criticising the proposed tour of Mr. Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy, the TRS leader said similar tours were being undertaken by Mr Rahul Gandhi, who went to console the farmers of Maharashtra and other State but he avoided pomp and show unlike Mr Jaganmohan Reddy.

TRS leaders Mr. Yadagiri Reddy, D. Vinay Bhaskar, G. Vijayarama Rao, P. Chandulal, P. Sudarshan Reddy and others took part in the event where scores of people thronged to enrol their names.

Still strong

Mr. Vinod Kumar appealed to people to send Mr Vinay Bhaskar to Assembly once again to prove that the Telangana sentiment was still strong in the district and to pressurise the Congress to take up the separate Telangana issue at national level.

Sole agenda

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) which emerged with the sole agenda of securing separate Telangana would succeed ultimately in the fight for the statehood, he said.

Massive movement

Neither the Congress nor the Telugu Desam Party are in favour of Telangana state despite witnessing massive movement involving four crore people of the region, Mr Vinod Kumar asserted.
