The District Congress Committee leaders have condemned Peddapalli MP G Vivekanand for making allegations against Minister for Civil Supplies D Sridhar Babu over alleged protocol violation during an official programme in Manthani town on Tuesday.
Talking to newsmen here on Wednesday, DCC president K Ravinder Rao said that as per protocol the MP should wait for the arrival of the Minister for an official programme. But, the Minister as a statesman had waited for the MP to come for laying of foundation stone for the Eco park in Manthani town, he added. Flaying the MP for talking about the protocol violation, he said that the MP had lost his cool after joining the TRS and was making false allegations. “Mr Vivekanand may be successful as an industrialist, but as a politician he has to learn a lot and maintain proper decorum for his post”, he noted.
SC Finance Corporation Chairman A Laxman Kumar demanded that the Peddapalli MP should resign to his post as he had won on the Congress ticket. He alleged that Mr Vivekanand had joined the TRS only to become Chief Minister of Telangana State. MLC T Bhanu Prasad Rao said that Mr Vivekanand, who joined TRS, was frustrated over the Congress announcing separate Telangana state. PCC secretary Y Sunil Rao, Town president Kanne Krishna, Mahila Congress leader G Jayashree and others were also present.
Peddapalli MP G Vivekanand has alleged that the district officials were violating protocol duties and insulting him by not informing about the officials programmes in the district in general and Manthani assembly segment in particular. alking to newsmen here on Wednesday, he said that he had informed the authorities concerned about the violation of protocol, but in vain. Stating that the officials have stopped or delayed the programmes for the arrival of Minister for Civil Supplies D Sridhar Babu on several occasions, he asked what is wrong if the officials had waited for him for at least another 10 minutes at the programme in Manthani town on Tuesday.
He also alleged that the officials had informed him about the Eco park programme only on Monday night. As he was preoccupied with the DRC meeting in Adilabad, he had arrived late for the Manthani programme, he maintained. He charged that the officials were ignoring him in the official programmes.
