Many Congress leaders have launched their own websites to reach out to Gen X

HYDERABAD: A large number of voters in the State may not be Internet savvy, but the impact a website can create among the younger generations has been promptly recognised by a few Congress leaders. They want the ‘Gen-X opinion makers’ to discuss their contribution to society, as they trust that their websites do figure in the online conversations and chats. By the click of a mouse, one can get complete insight into the work done by the politicians and wannabe legislators, their profiles, constituencies, biographies, social and political activities and achievements. There are plenty of websites that give a whole lot of information about Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, APCC president D. Srinivas, Assembly Speaker K. R.Suresh Reddy, MPs – Daggubati Purandeswari and M.M. Pallamraju, Lagadapati Rajagopal and Madhu Goud Yaskhi. Even legislators like Nadendla Manohar (Tenali) and Jalagam Venkata Rao (Sathupalli) launched their own websites.

Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy’s son Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy, who may contest from Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency, has his followers hosting a couple of websites such as ‘ www.jagan.org.in’ which eulogise him as ‘Jagan anna’.

The APCC chief ’s website, www.dsrinivas.com, speaks about his virtues, while the website of Speaker Suresh Reddy, www.sureshreddy.com, explains his political journey and provides an interactive platform for online communication between him and the citizens.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s remarks: “I’m proud of her. She is an asset to my Cabinet” is prominently flashed on the website ‘ www.daggubati.in’ of Purandeswari. Mr. Pallam Raju’s site, www.pallamraju.in, says Kakinada needs a planned development for harnessing rich natural and human resources. Mr. Rajagopal’s site, www.rajagopal.in’, and Nizamabad MP Madhu Yaskhi’s website, www.madhuyaskhi.com, mention their passion for firsthand knowledge about their basic needs. Mr. Manohar ( www.nadendla.in) and Mr. Jalagam Venkata Rao ( www.jalagam.com) are very active through their website. Mr. Manohar says: “It gives opportunity for us to update our activity.” Chairman of APCC IT department Bhamidipati Ramamurthy notes that websites are a strong medium to focus individual leaders. w.jaihoapcongress.com’, Congress’ the new poll site would be hosted soon.
