HYDERABAD: The Telangana Film, TV and Theatre Development Committee has expressed concern over ‘objectionable' posters and hoardings of at least a half-a-dozen recently-released films that were prominently displayed in theatres screening them, daily newspapers, main roads, public and private walls, RTC buses and autos.
In a letter to the Director-General of Police R.R. Girish Kumar, committee president G. Hanmanth Rao said that the films ‘Simha', ‘Magadheera' and ‘Back-up Plan' did not display their ‘A' certification in their advertisements. Other films that were named for similar violations were ‘Rama Rama Krishna Krishna', ‘Badmaash Company', ‘Iron Man 2', ‘Housefull' and ‘Remember Me', all with U/A certification. He said some of them were only certified as ‘Adults Only', but did not carry the specification .
Failure to display the specification was a cognisable and non-bailable offence, he said and urged the DGP to take action against the producers, distributors and theatre owners.
