Says work on the Peddapalli-Karimnagar-Nizamabad railway line is progressing at a snail’s pace
The YSRCP leader and former APSRTC chairman, Gone Prakash Rao, has demanded that the Congress MPs Ponnam Prabhakar, G. Vivekanand and Madhu Yaskhi Goud should exert pressure on the Union Railway Ministry to ensure that adequate funds were released for the early completion of the Peddapalli-Karimnagar-Nizamabad railway line.
Talking to newsmen here on Wednesday, he said that the foundation stone for the ambitious railway line was laid by then Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao in 1993. “During the period, the railway authorities promised to complete the railway line within 4 years. But, it is 20 years now, still it is progressing at a snail’s pace due to lethargy on the part of Railway Ministry”, he charged.
