Sri Gowthami Smart School conducted competitions in fancy dress, drawing, songs, dance, elocution, and essay writing for students of classes 1 to 10 on the occasion of Children’s Day on Wednesday.

M. Radha Jitendra and V. Suchitra Bhaskaram, who attended the function as chief guests, distributed prizes to the winners. In SKVT College, the Alumni Charitable Trust conducted essay writing competitions and felicitated “best student” Himali Jain and “best teacher” Bhujanga Rao.

They donated books to the school library and conducted science practical class for the benefit of students.

Students’ gesture

Schoolchildren of Indiranagar Colony celebrated Deepavali and Childrens’ Day in a different manner. They distributed sweets to orphans and physically challenged children in Amma Foundation, Saranya, and Behara centres for the physically challenged. The students said they bought sweets and chocolates with their pocket money and with the money saved by not purchasing crackers.

At a meeting organised by the Congress to celebrate the birth anniversary of Pandit Nehru, Union Minister Killi Kruparani recalled his contribution to the growth of the Party. Collector Saurabh Gaur garlanded the statue of Pandit Nehru at Nehru Yuvaka Kendram.
