Commotion prevailed at the lorry owner association hall in Palvancha on Tuesday night after the rifle of the gunman of a Chhattisgarh-based Salwa Judum leader went off during a dinner party.
Sources said that the A K 47 rifle of the gunman of a Kunta-based Salwa Judum leader went off during the course of a dinner party near Palvancha. A few bullets originated from the rifle and hit the roof of the hall. Though no one was injured in the misfire, the incident triggered panic in the locality. The Salwa Judum leader was in Palvancha town in connection with the filing of applications for tender works in a major industry by one of his associates. When contacted, Palvancha CI Y Ramesh said the rifle of a Chhattisgarh-based constable accidentally went off in Palvancha on Tuesday night. The constable was the gunman of Syed Sattar Ali, a Salwa Judum leader of Kunta. The matter has been reported to the authorities concerned, he said.
