Takes part in Rachabanda

Housing Minister Kanna Lakshminarayana has said the government is committed to improving the living conditions of the poor and downtrodden and it demonstrated it in ample measure in the last few years by delivering all the promises made during the elections.

Speaking at the Rachabanda programme at Brodipet here on Monday, Mr. Lakshminarayana said priority was given to students' fee reimbursement, ration cards, pensions, and other individual benefits. The Minister said that Rs. 810 crore was sanctioned for clearing the fee reimbursement dues and efforts were being made to implement 5 per cent reservation for minorities.

The beneficiaries of housing schemes were getting more money in both the urban and rural areas and those belonging to the SC/ST particularly got a handsome increase in the financial support extended by the government. The Opposition parties have every right to criticise the government and expose the wrongdoings but they were spreading misinformation about the programmes, while some others disrupted the meetings only for politicising issues.

Jobs for youth

Guntur Municipal Commissioner K. Sudhakar said that the youths seeking jobs under Rajiv Yuva Kiranalu have to submit their applications before December 31 for consideration in the New Year. Other benefits would be given in the due course. Guntur RDO S. Dhilli Rao and others were present.
