HYDERABAD: Agricultural Commissioner Poonam Malakondaiah has called upon the fertilizer industry to supply fertilizer consisting of sulphur content to districts where it is found to be deficient.

Speaking at a workshop organised by The Sulphur Institute (TSI) and Fertilizer Association of India (FAI) here on Monday, she underscored the need to ensure their availability when required by farmers.

The government estimates put sulphur deficiency at 4.25 lakh tonnes. As many as 18 districts in the State were identified to be sulphur-deficient, she observed.
