Most of us assume that comic books are losing their demand in a digital age, but the rush witnessed at the Comic Con Express exhibition held at the Hitex exhibition centre on Saturday proved it wrong.
Many youngsters turned up at the venue to pick books of their favourite comic characters, including Vinod Agent, Devi, Bheem, Ramaya and also international characters like Superman, Batman, Scarlett, Thunder Monkey, from a wide range of stuff made available at the place.
“Nowadays, we do not get books at regular book stores and instead have to depend on online stores. This is one of the best opportunities for us to pick books of our comic character,” says Kavita, a degree student from Gachibowli.
Apart from comic books, merchandise like mugs, T-shirts, sculptures, stationery and DVD’s were also made available. About 70 companies participated in the event.
A costume show was also organised on the occasion in which youngsters turned up at the venue dressed up as Superman, Batwoman, Hillary Witch, Captain Jack Sparrow and Joker. The participants were awarded prizes in the evening.
