VIZIANAG]ARAM: Managements of professional colleges in the district have been asked to activate anti-ragging squads and implement strictly the recommendations of Raghavan Committee and Supreme Court order on ragging.

At the district-level review meeting of committee members on Tuesday, Collector G. Ram Narayana Reddy and Superintendent of Police Y. Gangadhar wanted to know the incidents, if any, had taken place after admissions in the colleges completed recently. When representatives of various colleges made no mention of the incidents of ragging, the Collector said that inaction of the managements would be viewed seriously. He asked them to activate squads that were formed in the past and act as per the recommendations of the Raghavan Committee.

A representative of Maharajah’s Institute of Medical Sciences said that after a stray incident of ragging was reported a case was registered in Nellimarla police station and inquiry ordered into the incident. There were no reports of ragging from other colleges, the Collector said.
