Collector P.S. Pradyumna has warned the civil works contractors in all the four municipalities in the district against negligence in executing works on time and asked them to be ready to face punitive actions if they did not change their attitude.

Reviewing the progress of works undertaken in the four municipalities of Nizamabad, Bodhan, Kamareddi and Armoor here on Wednesday, he made it clear that engineers, contractors and officials concerned would be held responsible for delay in the execution of works. He also wanted to know the reasons for delay in works.

Suggesting registration of criminal cases against those who were coming in the way of works, he said the erring contractors would be blacklisted.

Expressing displeasure over the slow pace of works in Bodhan municipality, he pointed out that only four to five works were completed since the last review meeting held in October.

He asked the Sub-Collector, Harinarayanan, to take the follow up action while being in close association with the officials. He said show-cause notice would be issued to the Commissioner, Kamareddi, for attending training classes in New Delhi without his prior permission.

Mr. Pradyumna warned of severe action against the engineers if the works entrusted to them were not completed in the stipulated time and said that 12 blacktop road works were to be taken up in the district headquarters town soon.
