KHAMMAM: District Collector V. Usharani on Thursday inaugurated an exhibition of Bapu’s paintings on Ramayana organised as part of the special events planned on the eve of World Tourism day. She also inaugurated a photo exhibition on tourism potential in the district.
Speaking on the occasion she said the whole exercise was aimed at raising awareness on the role of tourism and its impact on the life. She said Khammam had also got greater tourism potential and it had to be promoted further.
The pictorial narration of Ramayana rendered by Bapu though his paintings made available for the pilgrim at the temple town of Bhadrachalam evoked overwhelming response. She hoped that the exhibition of Bapu’s painting organised on this occasion would be received well in Khammam as well.
The Collector announced that a book exhibition would also be organised soon as part of programme. She went round the stands and appreciated the photography skills of some of the local lensmen. The Collector said the administration would bear the entire transportation cost and half of the insurance premium if any of the farmers and milk producers were interested in buying milch cattle from Chittoor disrict.
At least ten farmers with a land holding of five acres should form into a group to avail the benefit. District Tourism officer Suman Chakravarthy also took part.
