44 drama troupes to perform on stage in the festival

The state government has in an order asked the district Collector to incur expenditure on conducting Nandi Natakotsavam-2012 that is scheduled at Ananda Gajapathi Auditorium here from January 20 to 28 from grants of various government departments. Collector M. Veerabrahmaiah informed this to various functional committees that he had constituted in the presence of officials and cultural organisations on Saturday.

To make the event a success, the district administration would now look for sponsors. The eight committees include organising , stage, reception and auditorium, hospitality and transport, press coordination, etc. and they comprise government employees, cultural organisations and media. They would discharge functions assigned to them for completing the nine-day celebrations successfully. He said that Transport Minister Botcha Satyanarayana will be the honorary president of Nandi Natakotsavam, he as the president of functional committee, and the Municipal Commissioner as the convenors.

Mr. Veerabrahmaiah asked Municipal commissioner S. Govinda Swamy to illuminate major traffic junctions and spruce up the fort town. All government accommodations where dignitaries would be provided accommodation have been brought under the control of the Collector. Artistes coming from other districts in the state would be accommodated at Kshatriya Kalyanamandapam. In all, 44 drama troupes are to perform on stage. The Collector asked District Public Relations officer Lakshmi Kantam and press coordination committee members to give wide publicity, which include canvassing through mobile audio van, cinema slides, posters, etc. Additional Joint Collector M. Rama Rao, ITDA Project Officer B.R. Ambedkar, District Revenue officer B.H.S. Venkata Rao, Deputy Transport Commissioner Meera Prasad and others were present.
