Collector M. Veerabrahmaiah inspected arrangements being made for the district-level Telugu conference on December 19 at Ananda Gajapathi Auditorium and Ayodhya Maidan here on Thursday. Claiming that the conference was celebrated in a befitting manner at panchayat, mandal and revenue divisional level, Mr. Veerabrahmaiah said folk artists, students, medical practitioners, advocates, anganwadis, officials and others would take out rallies from all corners of the town on that day and converge at fort. Elected representatives would lead them to Ayodya Maidan from there. At the sprawling maidan, a number of folk artists would perform. Minister Botcha Satyanarayana, who was invited for the celebrations, would unveil the Telugu Thalli statue in front of Ananda Gajapathi Auditorium. Later, he would give away prizes to winners of various competitions and felicitate eminent personalities in various fields.

Keeping participation of a number of people in the celebrations in view, the Collector asked Municipal Commissioner Govinda Swamy to arrange drinking water and medical and health department to arrange first aid. Joint Collector P. A. Sobha, and member of Official Language Commission A. Gopala Rao accompanied him.
