Collector B Ramanjaneyulu called for a concerted effort to achieve 100 per cent pass in the SSC examinations to be held in March/April. The head masters and mandal education officers need to work in a coordinated manner to reach the goal, he said at a review meeting on Thursday.

The focus should be on enabling every student of aided schools to succeed in the examinations, failing which appropriate action would be taken against the teachers and staff concerned. There would be no hesitation in seeking closure of aided schools which could not meet the target, he warned.

Mr. Ramanjaneyulu further said 75 per cent attendance was compulsory and no student who has less attendance should be allowed to write the examinations whatever reason he or she might give.

The parents should obviously share responsibility for failure of their wards. Parental guidance was crucial in this regard, he observed.
