Operation of MMTS trains via Kacheguda railway station was suspended till Saturday afternoon after Kacheguda-Akola Inter City and Venkatadri Express trains collided at the station. None was injured.
Railway authorities said the incident occurred when the inter-city train was being rolled onto platform number three from the yard. As the engine was being attached, the last coach of the inter-city rolled back and bumped into the Venkatadri Express which was being taken to the yard from platform number four.
Two coaches got derailed and were partially damaged, officials said. Officials said an inquiry would be ordered to ascertain the reasons that led to the accident. Train services were restored from 2 p.m.
