Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy will tour Krishna District on Sunday along with Union Minister for Rural Development Jairam Ramesh.
He will inaugurate Gudimetla and Turlapadu Lift Irrigation Projects in Chandrallapadu mandal and attend a public meeting at Kondapalli after formally launching the PURA project.
Mr. Reddy will reach Ramannapeta village at around 2 p.m. and inaugurate Gudimetla-2 and Turlapadu-1 Lift Irrigation Schemes. The two schemes would provide irrigation water for about 10,000 acres in Bobbillapadu, Chandarlapadu, Patimpadu, Kodavatikallu, Tota Ravulapadu, Muppalla and Turlapadu villages. Pipelines were laid from the two projects across Sagar canal and linked to 7/6 Veladi regulator and Turlapadu minor canals. The Chief Minister will perform ‘bhoomi puja’ for Kanchikacherla, Mogaluru and Ganiatkuru Lift Irrigation Schemes and interact with the local farmers. The plaques for these projects are being brought to Gudimetla so that the VIPs need not travel to those places for the bhoomi puja.
At 3.30 p.m. he will address the public meeting in Ibrahimpatnam mandal, said the officials. Secondary Education Minister Kolusu Parthasarathy, Collector Budha Prakash M. Jyothi, Joint Collector P. Usha Kumari and other officials on Saturday reviewed the arrangements for Chief Minister’s tour programmes.
Meanwhile, the Krishna District and the Vijayawada City police have made fool-proof security arrangements for Kiran Kumar Reddy’s programmes. A host of ministers, Parliament Members, MLAs and MLCs are expected to attend the public meeting and the inauguration programmes.
The two projects will provide irrigation water to about 10,000 acres
