Disputes white paper released by Telugu Desam Party

HYDERABAD: The Congress Legislature Party has asked TDP president N. Chandarbabu Naidu whether he will quit public life if an independent inquiry proves that not even 10 per cent of the Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) signed during his tenure as Chief Minister have materialised.

Government Chief Whip N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and Whip S. Udayabhanu in a press release disputed the white paper released by the TDP chief on the number of manufacturing units that had come up in the State during his tenure.

It was not correct for Mr. Naidu to say that Volkswagen decided to set up its plant in Pune due to corruption, they said. They asked what Mr. Naidu had to say about the decision of automotive giants like Hyundai, Ford, General Motors and Skoda to establish their plants in other parts of India when the TDP was in power.

Could it be construed that they ignored Andhra Pradesh because of corruption during the then TDP Government, they asked.
