Cloud computing has a great future as it has a lot to offer like new business opportunities, research and development, observed Prof. Gottfried Vossen, University of Muenster, Germany.

Inaugurating a three-day international conference on Cloud Computing at the Jayamukhi Institute of Technological Sciences, Narasampet here Tuesday, Prof. Vossen said cloud computing has been adopted by many American and European companies on security front.

“Cloud computing is associated with pooling of resources like software, storage space both in public, private and hybrid clouds. The benefits include economy of scale, pay as you go, no big upfront investments and no local installation needed,” he explained.

Prof. Vossen said data analysis and data computing were the emerging fields of research and those with expertise in Mathematics and Statistics would be most sought after in the days to come. Hence students should focus on research in this field for a bright career. Prof. P.R.K. Murti, Dean, R&D said the conference provided an opportunity to the participants to listen to the eminent speakers in the field. Prof. Jayadev Gyani, Organising Secretary of the ICCC-2013 said the AICTE sanctioned Rs.2 lakh for the conference.
