HYDERABAD: Students of different government and aided schools under the aegis of All India Democratic Students’ Organisation (AIDSO) staged a demonstration at the office of Directorate of School Education (DSE) at Khairatabad protesting against State government’s decision to close 3,276 government upper primary schools under ‘academic clubbing’.
They also protested the acquisition of Errummanzil High School by Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) without providing a suitable alternative.
Addressing the participants, AIDSO State secretary D. Raghavendra said students would intensify the agitation if the government failed to withdraw the G.O. No. 72 stipulating clubbing the upper primary schools with 6,500 schools that receive the Central funds under ‘Project Success’.
A memorandum on the condition of Errummanzil High School was submitted to the Joint Director of DSE, D. Sudhakar and requested him to take necessary action. The joint director has assured of appropriate action.
