TIRUPATI: Mohan Reddy, Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation of Tirupati, who is due to demit office on May 31, is signing off on a hectic note.
On Saturday, he presided over functions wherein as many as 15 schemes involving an financial outlay of Rs.3.1 cr were either inaugurated or foundation stones laid for the works.
Tirupati MP Chintha Mohan participating as the chief guest at the series of programmes organised in this connection, complemented Mohan Reddy for his foresight and dynamic work culture.
Some of the major works inaugurated were: widening of Akkarampalle Road at an estimated cost of Rs.57 lakh, modernisation of vegetable market (Rs.38 lakh), upgradation of facilities at the main burial ground (Rs.22 lakh), master plan road from Alipiri bypass (Rs.20 lakh), inauguration of the new premises of Tamil school (Rs.35 lakh), launching of Urdu school (Rs.20 lakh), inauguration of renovated temple complex of Nadiveedi Gangamma (Rs.20 lakh). Among the other schemes for which works were set in motion today are: road widening from Mahatma Gandhi Circle to Ambedkar statue point, widening of junctions at Krishnadevaraya Circle, Anna Rao Circle and Sankarambadi Circle.
