A one-day workshop with a focus on manufacturing organisations to understand work culture was conducted by the CII Visakhapatnam Zone for supervisors, operation managers, manufacturing managers and line in-charges.

The workshop on “Sustainable Organisational Performance through Employees Engagement” was conducted here on Friday by the Bangalore-based CII Institute of Quality, according to a statement issued here. This centre offers services on TQM, TPM, Business Excellence, Quality Management Systems, Manufacturing Excellence and Logistics Management, among others.

The objectives of the programme was to spread the message of “How to engage front line employees, temporary trainees and contract employees for a improved and sustainable organisation performance and its excellence; engaging the employees for identification of Fuguais (abnormalities) and doing the Kaizens; how to build culture of “ownership” of material, method and machine and finally to make paradigm shift of “I am operator” to “I am operator-cum- inspector-cum-maintainer” of my process and station, senior counsellor of the CII Institute of Quality and the faculty of this programme K.D. Saravanan said.

Mr Saravanan articulated in detail through case studies and exercises, the methodologies to be adopted in bringing the qualitative change in work attitude of front line employees; trainees and contract employees.
