VISAKHAPATNAM: The Visakhapatnam chapter of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) will hold Linkage-2006 - an interface between large, small and medium enterprises (SME) - here on September 1 on new business opportunities.
Develop strong base
CII local unit chairman H.S. Chhatwal and vice-chairman Varma Vegesna told reporters on Wednesday the conference would deliberate on the prospects, problems and policies of large scale undertakings and the initiatives introduced by the State Government in developing a strong vendor base in Visakhapatnam region.
Representatives from 200 SMEs and senior executives from major industries including Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited and Bharat Heavy Plate and Vessels will attend. Minister for Commercial Taxes Konathala Ramakrishna, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Eastern Naval Command Sureesh Mehta, VSP Chairman and Managing Director Y. Siva Sagar Rao, Industries Secretary Y. Srilakshmi, Commissioner Sutirtha Bhattacharya and others will address.
Mr. Chhatwal who is director (Commercial) of VSP said the meeting would facilitate partnerships between large-scale industries and SMEs, trace the emerging trends in the industry and promote Visakhapatnam as an industrial hub.
