Several people throng to see Chiranjeevi
A large number of people turned up for the beach festival on the first day on Friday. As a result of the huge campaign launched by the local leaders that hero turned politician K. Chiranjeevi was coming for the inaugural session, the entire festival premises was filled with people. Majority of visitors were keen on having a close look at the film star, rather than looking at the stalls being arranged for the festival.
As the road leading to the Vakalapudi Beach, the venue of the three-day festival, was a narrow one, there was a huge traffic jam on the road during the evening.
Though the police were keen on clearing the traffic before the inauguration, the vehicular movement went haywire after the VIPs left the premises.
Flexis of the political leaders of the ruling party were seen everywhere on the city, particularly from Sarpavaram Junction to the beach area.
There was not much crowd at the newly-opened ‘Shilparamam’ sculpture park, abutting the beach. Since people turned up on two-wheelers in huge numbers, there was a sudden spurt of parking lots, providing an opportunity to enthusiastic traders to make quick money.
Artistes in the attire of Haridasu, Gangireddu troupes and Pagativeshaalu mingled with the crowds. Even as lighting was arranged at the beach, many people were in a hurry to leave the place at the earliest, as it was far off from the city.
