‘Chillu', the one-month-old squirrel which was picked up by her mentor P. Srinivas Rao (25), a wedding album designer, on the Sri Ramanavami day (April 12) from the Hanuman Temple near his house in Netajinagar, here, has become his family member.

When not resting in a small vegetable tray, drinking milk from syringe, eating bits of mixture, guava, grape, banana, she spends most of the day moving on Mr. Rao's hands, head, the computer he uses, and entertaining the family members, mostly children. They watch its actions with amusement and ‘Chillu' also plays with the children.

Says Chiranjeevi, Mr. Rao's uncle, ‘We treat Chillu as a family member and take care in feeding her.

. It follows the family members wherever they go and sometimes visits the neighbours too! We treat it with lot of affection and we truly forget the world when Chillu moves in the house, playing with every family member', he adds.

Mr. Rao's wife, Varalakshmi, his mother Vajrakala, father Babu Rao, Mr. Chiranjeevi's wife Vijayakumari, sons Gautham and Teja, are all thrilled watching the squirrel's antics.

Centre of attraction

She is the centre of attraction in the locality. A Telugu daily and a TV channel recorded its movements in Mr. Rao's house recently. Once in a while it even kisses him on the lips!
