21` child artistes are participating in the programme

VISAKHAPATNAM: Ghantasala Swara Bala Gandharvam, an exclusive presentation of child singers, will be organised on Tuesday evening as a part of the 87th Ghantasala birth anniversary being organised jointly by VUDA and Ghantasala Sangeetha Kalasala at Gurajada Kalakshetram. The budding artistes will showcase their talent on the third day of the four-day festival. Twenty-two child artistes from Bapatla, Hyderabad, Vizianagaram, Srikakulam, Visakhapatnam and Mahaboobnagar who participated in TV realty shows, along with the students of Ghantasala Sangeetha Kalasala, are participating in the programme.

Inaugurated by Chairman of Visakhapatnam Port Trust Ajeya Kallam on Sunday, the celebrations began with Ghantasala-Annamayya Sripadarchana coinciding with the auspicious occasion of the eve of Vykunta Ekadasi with T Sharatchandra presenting the Annamacharya kritis composed by him.

Daunting task

Sharatchandra has taken up the task of composing 101 Annamacharya keertanas in the style and manner of the legendary playback singer and popularise them throughout the country.

The ‘Suprabhata Kavita Sumamala’ in Telugu, written by an NRI from the USA Komarraju Durga Prasad was also composed and presented on the first day.

Mr. Ajeya Kallam appreciated the efforts of Sharatchandra and the support extended to him by VUDA.
