GUNTUR: Promises made orally do not match with deeds of politicians in general and more so when we look into manifestos they had put before the people before elections, says Election Watch Forum convener P.C. Sai Babu.
Mr. Sai Babu said in a release here on Sunday that some of the serious problems needing immediate attention in society were relegated to insignificant one or did not figure in their documents. He said the election manifestos of various political parties reveal critical gaps concerning child rights, equal education and women empowerment.
None of the parties identified children as a social group. All parties followed a piece-meal approach to the whole issue of child rights, he observed. The political parties indulge in mud-slinging and hardly debate or discuss people’s problems, he lamented.
